I dont really know how long it took me but i lost about 40lbs and got more toned by changing lifestyle - diet and exercise habits. This is what i did:
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 400-600cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day (have lots of veggies to eat in between meals if you are still hungry)
8 glasses of water -carry bottle of water with you and when you feel hungry drink it - we often confuse hunger with thirst (our bodies confuse it)
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for average of 45min, light weight training a few times a week (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, ice cream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
of course you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I lost 79.5 pounds doing Weight Watchers on-line. It took a total of 18 months, the last 20 were the toughest. I walked for 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes at least 3 days a week and after not losing but not gaining for over 3 months I started weight training in my family room 3 mornings a week and lost the remaining 20 plus 3 sizes.
If you are having results and eating healthy then continue what you are doing and you will get there. My doctor told me the longer you take to lose it the more likely it is you will keep it off. I have for 4 yrs now.
Good luck!

I haven't lost mine yet. I weigh 190 pounds (so nearly 200). My goal is to get to my original weight of 140.
I am starting at weight watchers - I am excited but really nervous - but know it will be worth it. I assume it will take some time - probably about 5-6 months - because that means it will be done healthier and the weight will stay off.

The fastest way I know of to lose weight is by going on a liquid diet. I don't mean just by drinking water! There are several medically approved "meal replacement" plans to choose from. I am on the Optifast diet and it is great. I lost 16 kilos in the first 3 weeks. It is good for me as it takes the worry out of "food" for a while. If you go on a liquid diet, follow the instructions to the letter. You have to also drink at least 2 litres of water as well. While you are on the liquid diet, take the opportunity to learn all about correct eating habits, nutritious food, exercise etc. There are thousands of sites on the net to help you with that. Good luck.

I would suggest a cleansing diet. I lost 12 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. I also lost a lot of inches too! I learned that cleansing will help the body get rid of toxins. Toxins come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives and lots of other things. The toxins get stored in the fat in our body. To get rid of the fat, we have to get rid of the toxins by cleansing the body. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. I did Jenny Craig, Weight Watcher and Medifast. If you want to learn more call the toll free number 1-877-587-4647 or check out the website. This was the first time I ever did a cleanse, it was easy and I feel better. Good luck whatever you decide to do! http://easycleanse.tripod.com

Well than you know the secret. Just keep it up. At first you lose allot of weight and then it just stops. For no apparent reason it just stops. But then about a month later is when you will start losing again. Enjoy and don't quit.
