You can tell there is such a thing as a Y/A addiction when questions like "What's YOUR excuse?" get 64 people to answer!
It MUST be addiction, whatever else could it be?

BTW, I was one of those 64 people!

I think the orange bar under my name was a dead giveaway anyhow! ♥

The sign is a little redish-orange box below your picture that says "Top Contributor".

Until you've had kids - more than one, and had them for at least 10 - 15 years, you cannot IMAGINE how gratifying it is to have people ask for advice. I have given mine advice every once in a while, sometimes before they even asked, from the time they were communicating in two-word sentences to the time they left the house forever, running down the street with their fingers in their ears. Did I get any thanks? Ha!

You learn from experience, and I have 60 years of scars on my heart, hands and soul I could share, so they didn't make the same mistakes I did. About the only advice any of them ever took was "Make really sure the (electric) chainsaw is unplugged before you try to change the chain tension."

They ignored the one about dating men who rode motorcycles and had nicknames of predatory animals. They ignored the one about paying a little extra to find a trustworthy dealer. They ignored the one about outrunning the highway patrol. They ignored the one about mixing your liquor. They ignored the one about women who seemed too eager. They ignored the one about dogs who were not wagging their tails, and sticking your hand down a hole to see if a badger lived there. I won't mention picking a spouse based on bra size or fooling around with married women.

Some of us can spend hours here helping the less experienced. It's a blessing.

The signs and symptoms would be staying up until 3 am answering another question and then another, answering even questions about things that you really don't know anything about.
