No Australian Government in its right mind would try to raise such a Militia, the consequences of a large force of untrained men, with mixed arms, unconventional transport, lacking in even the most basic rudimentary knowledge of military tactics and communications would be a nightmare for a military C&C, and in the long run would guarantee many casualties some from even friendly fire incidents from prowling RAAF aircraft.

In the very unlikely event of a force approaching Australia, the military would have warning via their military intelligence gathering services (do you think the Australians dont maintain a watch on the neighbours!!), Australian Air and Seapower would be the first line of defence, followed up by Regular and Territorial troops trained for such a job, local security would be co-ordinated by the Police, the thought of thousands of gung-ho armed civilians rushing around doing a "Mad-Max" does not bear thinking about.
