I'm the same way... Every piercing I've gotten (other than the first holes I got in my lobes at 5 years old) have gotten infected and healed horribly. My nostril piercing has been a pain over the last year, but I'm determined to stick with it.

On the other hand, I have two tattoos - one on my arm and one on my foot. They both healed beautifully! If you do get a tattoo and it gets infected, it's MUCH easier to take care of and get rid of. A tattoo heals the same way your skin does when you get a sunburn or a bad scratch. Poking a hole THROUGH your skin has to heal much differently and is much easier to get infected.

You probably are just allergic to the metal when you get a piercing... Do you get a rash or red, itchy skin when you wear other metal jewelry like rings, bracelets, necklaces, etc? If that's the case, then it's the metal.

Good luck!

the only piercings i still have are the FIRST holes in my lobes. all else infected. and i have 5 tattoos, and i'm still not done. i have no problem healing a tattoo. i scab more than a lot of people do. but that's because i'm fair skinned, and have very sensitive skin as well. as long as you follow the tattoo rules to a T you shouldn't have any problems. i use A&D ointment when i get a new one, and keep them lotioned all the time. and whatever you do, DO NOT PICK THE SCABS!!!!! if you're anything like me, the color will completely fade where you picked. not cool.

I dont think so, I have a friend who has the same problem wishes she could have some piercing and cant she has tattoo's and they are all fine. But if you always a slow heal even on minor cuts and scrabs maybe you check in with your doc, diabetics have healing problems.

Do you think you are rejecting bad metals? Infections come from bad technique, poor aftercare, contamination, etc.

Tattoos do pierce through the skin but only lay in color into the dermis. If you go to a very reputable, clean studio and follow strict aftercare, there should be no reason for you not to heal well unless you have medical issues like diabetes.

there is a good chance you will have problems including scaring problems with a tattoo. If you really want one, try a small one in an unseen area first. this will give you an idea how it may heal.

i would say that you would have a hrd time healing from a tattoo. i would check with your doctor to see what he has to say.

not sure about the tatt, but, could of you been allergic to the metal that you wore in the piercings?.....
