3 years ago I was in a car wreck that broke my jaw and broke or knocked out a lot of my teeth. I've had 5 surgeries and have dental implants but I no longer have insurance and don't have the money for the crowns and veneers I need to finish the process. I've been wearing temporaries for 3 years! I'm a single mom of 3 and I work hard as a Marketing Director for a biotech company. But $25,000 for dental work would be a far stretch for me. I'm still paying for my son's braces! Are there any resources for moms like me?

In the city where I live, there's a health care place for low-income people and they recently added inexpensive and sometimes even free dental services. I'm sure where you live you can find something similar. I don't know if you'll find veneers at such a place, but I'm sure crowns can happen. Another option is to call the nearest dental school; most have clinics where the dental students work and it costs a lot less. As for pro-bono, you can call around to different dentists; it's worth a shot, but I wouldn't hold your breath. (Somebody mentioned carecredit. That's just a credit card. I know because I had a loan through them. I can say, however, the terms were quite good if you want to go that route.)

Ssure! They do all the time. Most are contributors to events like KMOM (where hundreds of dental professionals give pro-bono work for free for a whole weekend, like here in KS its at the Nascar Speedway when no races are going on) or thru agencies like "Give back a Smile" for abused women. There are all sorts of things like that. The dental school even does a lot of Free work for under-priveledged. And I agree, it insurance is costing more and more and certainly doesn't cover what it used to. You pay more for less coverage. :(

You can find dentist doing pro-bono but mostly for extractions only. (dentistes sans frontiers do that). You are taking procedures that involves laboratory technicians and sorry madam I do not think most dentist will shoulder laboratory fees.

GOOD LUCK for finding one....really:))
