I agree with everyone else...when I saw the words 'vagina, itchy and red', the first thing I thought of was yeast infection. Where we adults can buy over the counter drugs for yeast infections, you should take your daughter to her pediatrician/doctor and see how such a young girl would be treated for this.

She could be suffering from a yeast infection. Yes little kids get them too and I seen on tv the other day some medication they have something for kids only to be used in this situation. I'm not sure of the name of it. Or try giving her some yogurt and see if it goes away like that. Make sure when she takes a bath to dry her off completely too. Good luck

Yeast infection. My daughter gets them too, especially when she takes antibiotics. I use the yeast infection cream that comes with a seven day treatment kit like a diaper cream (of course only on the outside) and it works everytime. At this age the infection is usually external according to my pediatrician.

Yeast infections are no big deal. Very common, especially if she has recently been on antibioctics. You just need to get some ointment from the doctor.

that's pretty common. its a yeast infection. my daughter used to get them alot when she was little, from all the medication she was on. and antibiotics causes it to.there is alot of things that can cause it in children. try using some hydrocortizone 1% on her that will relieave the itching for now then you want to take her into see her doctor to get a cream that you will mix with the hydrcorizone 1% to get rid of the fungal infection. thats what i had to do every time my daughter got it. also you will want to make sure you keep her nails clipped and have her try not to scratch. when you get the fungal medicine from the doctor for the yeast infection if you mix that cream 50/50 with the hydrocortizone it will make it go away faster and relieave the itching. good luck and best wishes.

make sure she doesn't have a fungal infection like thrush and then treat accordingly. If she does (and it sounds like she does) then get some Canestan or similar cream from the chemist and put that on it. Make sure she is wiping herself properly (front to back) when she goes to the toilet, as infections at this age is usually due to poor hygeine. Bath in Pinetarsol (also available from the chemist) to relieve the itching if it persists and then take her to the doctor if the chemist cream doesn't make it go away.

you need to make an appointment with her doctor because it could be a yeast infection. This usually accrues after a child has taken antibiotics.
