My grandmother always said she'd never live to see 60. She died of a massive heart attack on November 24, 1970, at the age of 59. Her 60th birthday would have been Dec. 2.
In the weeks before she passed, she took the time to do her Christmas shopping and wrap all of our gifts. This was a first for her, she was a last-minute shopper.
That night, she got up from bed and sat talking with my grandfather for the longest time, told him she loved him, then sat down and died.
She knew.
Odd thing is, when the phone rang at our house that morning, my mother started screaming, and asking what had happened to her mother. All this before my father even answered the phone.
Somehow, my mother knew, too.

This is a very interesting question. My grandmother is in a nursing home, and she has told me a few stories of some of the residents knowing that their time was near. Another thing that is very strange is the cat they have in the nursing home. They call him the grim creeper, because he will go and sit or lay with residents for a day or two, and then they die shortly after that. Everyone fears him. Haha. Animals have a strange way of sensing things that we can't.

Yes, I do.
I work in nursing homes with mostly elderly.
I would say that 100% of the souls I met knew they were going to die.
Some did not want to accept it, but they knew.
I also think that some poeple that die in accidents get a clue or two before hand.
I had an old boyfriend die in one. The night before he died he seemed different. He told me something that lead to believe he knew his time was near.

Sometimes people say things that they don't mean. When I was younger, about 8 myself, I used to pray to God to let my mommy only live to be 50yrs old. I thought that was a long, long time in my mind at that time but, thankfully God did not answer it, she's 55 yrs old now. The Bible does speak that the Lord will reveal things to us as Christians. I know that every person that "stood out" in the Bible knew that there time was drawing near, they may not have known exact when but, they knew. I would say to just sincerely pray to God and ask Him.

welllllll.....I'm pretty sure if they see the car coming, they know they will probably die.
Seriously though, I think that with old age and serious disease or illness, it's pretty clear that death is inevitable. With freak accidents, I don't think most people know, although they might be able to sense that change is coming.

I've been in healthcare almost 30 years. I've seen so many deaths, I really couldn't count. And I've come to know that alot do. I could tell stories.

Some feel fear. Some feel peace. Some see visions of angels.
