Frustrating is it not?
I am an avid bow hunter-live in central Missouri. Have had my stands up since august.
And have yet to use them this season.

Each day the temperature is in the upper 80’s to low 90’s. Much to warm for hunting.
I also dove hunt. Even to warm for that.

Just be patient. Listen to your dad. He is not being mean. Just using very good judgment

If temperatures are as hot where you are as they are here in the Mississippi Delta, your Dad is probably right. In addition to the snakes, and skeeters, you will have to worry about the meat spoiling before you can cool it down. Wouldn't you hate to kill a deer and have the meat go to waste?

Like JD said, keep up the pressure, but don't overdo it. You don't want to make your Dad mad enough to ground you for the whole hunting season.

Good Luck and tell us about the big buck you take later in the season.

Doc

Might need to talk to your dad about that. I don't know where you live but here in NC it is still a little to warm for hunting.

NOTE to charlieshepp:

Punks are the ones who proxie hunt, (buy all their food at the store), then condemn others for hunting for themselves.

Yes, punks are people like you.

Hang in there and keep up the pressure, and pray you don't over-do it to the point he gets mad....It's not always what you want to hear but he is your Father/Dad......He ultimately makes the rules and like it or not, you have no choice but to follow them............Good Luck!
