If you want to do something really different try the Loreal Professional line of Hicolor reds. It is sold at Sally's Beauty Supply and other beauty supply stores. I mix the Red Hot Red permanent color with the Red highlighter both from the Hicolor line. I use 40 vol developer since my hair is dark. You will have to use that also to get your hair any lighter. These colors are designed only for brown to black hair so you don't have to use bleach. I get sort of a maroon bright red. It's awesome, but not for the faint of heart. It's also a great autumn hair color for this time of year. Links below will bring you to the Loreal Hicolor website for information and shades.

How about trying streaks first and if you like it then you could try a whole new color. I think you would look pretty cool with some blonde streaks. If you like it you could go with a little more blonde. Good luck!

You forgot to mention if you are a student or working .
What you can do at school , you can't always do at work .
And color streaks are very individual , some people like candy apple red , others like purple or blue .
Only you know your fave color .

If you have a relaxer you run the risk of damaging your hair and having it break off if you add permanent color. If you want to experiment with color without the commitment try adding clip in extensions. You get to experiment with different colors without the commitment.

Oooo... probably some different shades of brown, red streaks on people make them look like pole dancing prostitutes in my opinion, but only on some people... on you I would stick with just black or go with dark brown (different shades) streaks :)
Take care,
Natalie

Keep the color you were born with. Not only will bleach streaks ruin your hair, they are passe, let's go for something different.

I think you should start with highlights, then progress to a whole head application. But i think you would look good with highlights the color of Beyonce's hair. She is very pretty and looks good with that golden color of hair.
