I'm glad that Hung won. He truly had skilled and backed it up with his dishes.
It's funny how people keep repeating his food has no heart. Yet, when people leave a restaurant they don't talk about the food having heart. Most people talk about the food tasting good which Hung kept getting complements about his food, technique and presentation where Todd English even commented that Hung's dish was a 3 star dish. That's 3 out of 3.
He clearly had the most skills and knowledge amongst all of the other contestants. His fellow contestants were even amazed at his skills with the knife, especially during the mise en place challenge where Hung destroyed those chickens.
Hung, Casey and Dale also made up for the train wreck that was Ilan from Top Chef 2. They restored confidence that the judges got it right for TC3.
I found this interview with Hung to be very humorous and, as the contestants kept using during the show, on-point. http://www.villagevoice.com/blogs/food/archives/2007/10/hung_speaks_wha.php
For example,
Casey mentioned Hung using sous vide method a few times. Hungs comment "I'm sorry, Casey. You heat up your meat in a saute pan every time." lol... How true and accurate is that.
What's funny is Casey used the sous vide method in the finale, but her dish turned out terrible.
Another funny comment made by Hung during the interview...
"What does that mean, when [Colicchio] says 'We don't see Hung.'? What should I do, make sweet and sour chicken and wontons? I'm trained in French food. I love French food. That is me."

i think of that CJ or Tre will win. the two are reliable chefs and function reliable personalities. i do no longer think of Hung will win as a results of fact he's in basic terms too spazzy and too caught on himself. each person can see that the judges are uninterested in Hung in no way admitting that he ought to have been incorrect with a number of his judgements. He seems to think of he's often genuine and no it is easy to tell him something that ought to help replace his recommendations.

He was a total arrogant jerk through the whole competition. His food was all so overly logical and textbook.... no heart. I'm bummed that he won.
