Similar to the best strategy with anyone: find out, by asking or observation, what they like and what works best for them.

Remember that the vast majority of people who are officially registered blind have some eyesight.
And those with macular degeneration have totally different problems than those with retintitis pigmentosa.
One "strategy" for both on the basis that "they are blind" misses this completely, *and* fails to treat them as individuals anyway!

For some visual presentations can still be a good route for information, for example presented in handle-able cards in big print.

For others spoken word tapes or wil be a better way to give information that needs to be referred to more than once.

Having a battery of methods, basically.

Me, I have different communication issues. If I'm *really * listening to someone, I'd prefer to shut my eyes and concentrate just on what they're saying. But I have to remember that most consider that rude, or a sign of inattention.

What deficit do you have? And with that, how do you think he should communicate with you, knowing you aren't all 'there'?

I've never, ever, ever found blindness to be a problem with communication. Honesty helps.

It actually sounds like you may have more of a problem than the blind person, so I'd ask, "who's really blind?"
