An ice cream milk shake would be good. You can add some protein powder to that - we ate it all the time growing up. Chocolate is the best. It wouldn't exactly be like a protein shake because of the ice cream base, but protein does help people gain weight. You can buy chocolate protein powder at any health food store. Try eating every two hours. Drink milk with everything you eat. Fried foods are generally packed with calories so that might be a good option for you. It is important to get a balance of calories, fat, protein and carbs for your body to get the most good out of the food you eat. Go out to restaurants and order stuff - eat the WHOLE plate of food. Restaurants always give you enough food for 4 people. Mexican food can be high in calories, and has protein and carbs. A plate of nachos (with meat, cheese, etc) would be a good snack for you. Good luck.

What about ice pops? I make them all the time....just use some orange juice (or any juice for that matter), ice, and any fruit you think the kids will like. Blend it all together until smooth, pour it in dixie cups, add a popsicle stick and freeze.

Build an Insect

2 celery sticks (body)
6 carrot sticks (legs)
2 licorice sticks or 2 lo mein noodles ( antennae)
2 raisins (eyes)

Use peanut butter or cream cheese to "glue" everything together.

If it's not the nutritional reason not to choose ice cream, make little mirangues and call them igloos! just make something up. You might be thing to think too hard beyond your own pantry.
