Covet is probably not the word you wnated to use.
The bible wuld have it so that no matter what we do at any time that would be a sin. Everything is sinful to the Bible.
I think I will choos sin over god. Sure a lot more fun. I think God needs a prostitute to teach him a few things.

Yes. Because God sees not just our exterior actions, but our interior motivations.
To want your neighbor's wife, even if you don't have sex with her physically, is still stepping over a boundary, so it is the same as cheating, according to the Bible.
That is one reason we pray in church:
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O God.

Under the Law of Moses, it was. When Jesus made that statement, he was trying to get the religous folk to understand the true implications of the law. The religous folk were self righteous and thought they had it all together, but Jesus was getting them to realize what the Law of Moses really meant, which would in turn get them to realize they could never make it trying to be accepted by their performance of attaining obedience to the law. In other words, Jesus was telling them that mankind was morally bankrupt and it would take something that was totally out of man's control to make things right. And then he died.

I'm not a theologian but I am a stickler for proper usage of the English language. It's 'intents and purposes'.

I think intense coveting is definitely covered in the bible. :) It's also called stalking.

Yes. It is an extremely subtle form of sin. Many can't see it yet, and so it wreaks havoc on them through self-imposition.
