yes I do! I do believe in HIM sometimes, and sometimes I dont believe in HIM too! I guess we're both experiencing the same thought, we've been asking the same questions, maybe we have the same beliefs? I guess we're both acting so weird when it comes to dealing w/ GOD.

but you know what? with your question, I guess there's no right answer and there's no wrong answer. Believe what you believe and dont believe what you dont believe. Don't pressure yourself. My younger brother said to me once, don't worry JC, my brother, your feelings w/ God is just normal, youre innocent and just wondering, let God answer you that question for yourself, no mortal can answer you that question. It feels very annoying but its true, ayt?

If God touches you one day, let me know!

What you are going through is completely normal. I actually stopped believing in God altogether at one point. I am nowhere near religious, but I do believe in God. Also, someone who answered your question pointed out some ridiculous statements in the bible and asked you to compare it to reality. Everything in the bible is very symbolic, and it is pretty much just a story of what happened. Look at how quickly genesis goes through the story of creation. Just a few lines of "and God said let there be...." and "god said let the land..." and so on. I'm pretty sure the creation was not that simple, but the bible makes it sound like no sweat. Almost everything in the bible is summarized very briefly and symbolically. Do not let the fact that things in the bible sound ridiculous and don't make sense let you stray away from believing in God. You are not supposed to take the bible literally. Good luck!

There is insufficient empirical evidence to support the hypothesis of a god or gods. So no, I do not really believe there is a god.
The best advice I can give you is to read and talk. Listen to everyone's opinion and come to a conclusion. I would not make this board a primary source of information, were I you.

It's normal to feel this way if the world is such that everything must be Proven to be Real.

But the real answer has nothing to do with seeing something that exists.

Be weary when making decisions. Not everything is as it seems. Sometimes that which you think frightens you the most, is the very thing that is well worth a second chance.

I believe in you. Look in the mirror and smile. There's God looking right back at you.

You do not have to believe in God to confirm that there is a God. God is Creation. You are trying to understand why you are here and how you relate to God.

Your quest is to develop spiritually and learn more about yourself. That is all. Nothing more is required. God believes in you. Why? Because you are alive. Never take that for granted.

Enjoy your life and explore your inner spirit and how you relate to love, faith, hope, and the workings of the Universe. When you do this, you learn more about yourself and God learns more about you.

Read the Bible where it describes the earth. In the Bible the earth is flat, held up by pillars (like a giant oceanic oil-rig) and the sun revolves around the earth. The sky is a mirrored dome with the sun, moon and stars affixed to the underside. The moon creates it’s own light. Above the dome, God sits on a throne in heaven. God, who’s as strong as a unicorn, rides cherubs and came to earth to show his “back parts” to one man and wrestle with another. The Bible tells of unicorns, cockatrices, and satyrs. Snakes, trees and donkeys talk. Does this sound like reality to you?

Why would God make Noah save Mosquitoes, parasitic wasps and komodo dragons while watching innocent human babies drown?

Read Eccl. 3:18-20: That Men “might see that they themselves are beasts. …Yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.”

Read the parts where God condones and even rewards slavery, murder, infanticide, rape, mutilation, etc.

You need to understand that the Bible is describing the God you would worship if you were Christian.

The idea of a "sky daddy" who will protect you on earth and give you a life after you die is a very powerful one. However, it is not reality, as you have already discovered.

Just remember, anyone can promise you anything, But can they back it up?

Chester - I know it is very hard to understand why any person would believe in a supernatural - superstition to explain and guide their lives when such a need is transparently useless but some people do suffer from that affliction. Belief is not a choice

There was this lady that came to the door and she was like all "read this passage from the bible" to see if God actually made earthquakes and stuff. I don't beleive that 'GOD' makes disasters because they're obviously NATURAL!!!!

But otherwise, i dont have a clue.

Your feelings are normal. It is called spiritual dryness or the dark night of the soul. Many saints of the Catholic Church have gone through this. The most recent and publicized was that of Mother Teresa.

From my experience you should accept it as a challenge from God. He does test our faith from time to time. But when we get over it, we experience a new spiritual high.

God bless!
