Two of my cousin's married people from a different country, one married an american and one married an english girl. They both had like two weddings in a way. One had a large engagement party in America whilst the other had two weddings, one here is australia and one in england they had bridesmaids and groomsman etc at both, she even had two dresses. So you can have two different dresses or you can wear the same one for both to save some money, but I though it was nice that they included each country, even if it was a bit different, but each country has different customs and traditions so I always think that it is special to include them. It also means that you have the people that have been special to you, most people can't afford to take a trip to a different country for a wedding, it allows for everyone to be included. Hope that helps

Where the most family members are. If equal - have a small wedding with immediate family and then two receptions in both countries.

In Filipino culture, wedding is held at the girls' place of origin or at the place chosen by the bride. If your not a Filipino, you have to consider the culture of your partner. But I guess, the best place is the most practical and accessible for all your chosen guest.
After all, wedding is a vow of two people in love, the location is only secondary.

I am mexican and we will have 2 weddings, in my country the religious wedding is not legaly valid, its just abour faith, so we will have a BIG party with all my family and my fiance's friends. 4 days after that wedding we will marry in Vegas!!

I agree, you have to consider traditions, thats why we will have a party here, too.

We're having one event in the city where my fiance and I live, and then we're flying to his home country to have another one there. We're having the ceremony and all the paperwork done where we live; the other is primarily just a reception.

It's a challenge, but it's doable!

Good luck.
