You can't. You can interfere, and delay, but you can't cover up. An obvious attempt, will constitute a refusal

Uh, don't drink and drive. I would guess by this question you are planning on doing a little premeditated drinking and driving. People who drink and drive are selfish morons that endanger everyone.

There are lots or urban legends out there that are suppose to defeat the Intoxilyzer. You know what they do for you? They get you arrested. Most officers you run into are not working their first day on the job. We see this stuff all the time and have dealt with it.

Do yourself (and my family) a favor and call a cab.

There are many ways to mess with a breathalyzer.

There are procedures in place, used by the police, to circumvent them all. Constant observation for 15 minutes does the trick. During that time, you are not allowed to have anything in your mouth (gum, cigarettes, listerine strips, etc.). The moment your mouth is clear, the time starts. None of these things will affect the outcome after 15 minutes. If you decide to put something in during the observation time, or you burp, vomit, or regurgitate, the officer can choose to start over or simply take blood.

Mouth alcohol, or other adulterants, usually have about one minute of life in your mouth. After that, with them gone, there is no effect. The 15 minutes is just to make 15x more sure of that.

Just don't. Now that your question has been posted on answers, I wonder what would happen if you were arrested for dui and how it would impact your case? Stop and think, if you kill someone, how would you spend the rest of your life? If you kill a family member of mine, you'd better watch your back because I'd make your life a living hell.......... think about it.

you cant cover up a breathalyser test. if you use mouthwash it will probably increase the alcohol level because alot of mouthwash products use alcohol in it.

you cannot
as long is their alcohol in you blood and your system drinking listorine (which contains more alcohol) or anything else will not work. and i heard from somewhere that if you refuse and say the test is wrong, they arrest you and take a blood sample which is more accurate and could get you into more trouble.

I have also heard of the penny in your mouth method. Only thing about that is where do u hide it, and the fact that its pretty gross. But hey if a penny in your mouth increases your chances of getting away I'd try it.

There is no way to "cover it up." Intoxication is not something a breath mint will cure.

Your attorney can attack the test. First of all, it needs to have been conducted within 2 hours of the arrest. Secondly, they have to calibrate the machine and prove in court that the calibrations are sufficient, which requires them to produce the officer. It's possible to beat the case by beating the machine if you have a good jury.
