If there was a "scientific proof" that God existed would your whole belief towards the matter change? And if there was substantial proof who the hell would need faith.

It's the here and now that I'm concerned with, not some hypothetical alternate reality.

In this reality, there is no "scientific proof."

This is an interesting question because God exist only where science can't provide answers. The better question might be "if we can answer all lifes questions scientifically would you still believe that there HAS to be a God." As it stands now, no scientific explanation means there HAS to be a God. Besides, science test real and tangible evidence. There is none in this question.

If there was scientific proof of God, then yes. My belief would change.
And as for "faith", I think that "faith" is overrated. While it does talk about faith in the Bible, nowhere does it say that you are required to believe in God based on faith ALONE. In the Bible, God supposedly showed himself all the time. He showed himself for the purpose of proving he existed. He was always "talking" to people, and interacting with people. It wasn't until science began to explain the things that used to be attributed to "God" that all of a sudden people started saying that God doesn't show himself, and we're expected to believe in him based only on faith. There is NO reason in the world that God shouldn't be able to show himself, or give clear and unmistakable evidence for his existence.

That's the point. Atheists does not like to have blind faith in something. If there was proof, then I may change my mind on what to believe.

You know what is even funnier? The fact that no one, probably not theists or atheists or anyone for that matter can offer a common, shared, scientific DEFINITION of what would constitute God. It is pretty hard to find something if you don't know what to look for or if everyone is looking for something different in order to paste the label "God" on it.

Sure. With scientific proof no one would need to have blind faith, in a god that is.

Youre funny too!

If there was scientific proof for god, I would accept it.
Why is "faith"... a belief in something completely illogical, fantasy, unprovable,... held in higher regard than rational, logical, scientific fact???

You religious are so funny!

Umm, if there was even evidence, not necessarily even proof, then I would reconsider my stance of religion and theism. If god could be proven objectively to everyone, then...ya think?

Until the day that happens (not holding breath), I'm sticking with my drinking buddies!

Yup... faith is proof that it's fake, and wouldn't be needed if it was real.

But why do you have the need to find the answer to what would change our minds?

Yeah of course it would. We're not afraid of believing in God, there's just no point if he's unprovable. We don't even have a shred of evidence supporting him. If we had proof, we'd be theists. Simple as that.
