Jesus makes clear that it will come after the gospel is preached in all of the world and not back in AD 70 as some suggest. Will it be seen from Judaea? Will it actually stand in the holy place?

Matthew 24:14-15 (King James Version)

14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

It is obvious to me that it will be someone who will abominate desolation. So desolation will be either gone or perverted. It's a pretty weird thing to say, by all means. They could have been a tad more clear in syntax. For instance, an "abomination" (by itself) would be understandable. That, clearly, to me means that something icky and not normal will occur. Some kind of mutant, perhaps. A hybrid, even, between man and some other sort of creature. Or, if they had said merely "desolation", that on its own would have made sense. Something that utterly depresses you, like a smokestack of industry that pollutes the entire world. But to put the two words together kind of cancels them out. So we go to the sense of the text to get a feel for the mood of the author.

Law is the abomination of desolation.
Law vs Law is divided against itself,
and thereby it's brought to desolation.

Eg: Stephen saw Jesus: made under the law,
standing in the holy place, at the right of God on high;
And it notably got him cast out and stoned to death.

For you're supposed to be seated, not standing right,
and what's right with true God is grace, not another law.

So then Mark 13:14 refers to Jesus(Law) in Acts 7:55.
Which things are an "allegory", and a "mystery" to solve.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

I believe the general consensus among (reputable) bible scholars is that the "abomination of desolation" occurred when the Roman emperor Caligula decreed that his statue be placed in the Temple in Jerusalem. Shortly after this incident, Jerusalem was sieged and the Temple was destroyed.

I suppose in a general sense, it would be any case where true worship of god is replaced with false worship.

Jesus is simply one in a long line of fictional god-men. Most of Jesus' attributes and teachings were "borrowed" from older myths and philosophies.

Did a historical Jesus exist?
http://www.nobeliefs.com/exist.htm
[Excerpt]

ALL CLAIMS OF JESUS DERIVE FROM HEARSAY ACCOUNTS

No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay accounts.

Hearsay means information derived from other people rather than on a witness' own knowledge.

Courts of law do not generally allow hearsay as testimony, and nor does honest modern scholarship. Hearsay provides no proof or good evidence, and therefore, we should dismiss it.

From what I understand, it is when the antichrist does something horrendous inside the temple in Jerusalem. That site being holy to most of the world's religions. (Temple and Dome of the Rock) He will desecrate that holy place in an act seen throughout the world. Probably setting himself up as god of the earth by violating and abolishing Jewish and Muslim law in a vile and contemptable way. Hope this helps.

This is the antichrist, satan physically here on earth standing in the holy place where Christ ascended into heaven claiming to be Christ himself.

Satan pretends to be Christ before the true Christ appears. This is where many will be taken and deceived, believing his lies and waiting to be raptured away. This is the tribulation.

This is a somewhat difficult question to answer.

May I recommend a website that answers this question in an essay:

Israel will rebuild the temple, and the anti-christ will go in it and desolate it.
