Gent, but neither American nor English. I am not as polished as a true English gent, am certainly not an American slob. I'm Russian originally, living in U.S. since 1994, and as most Russian people like to refer to themselves, I consider myself "European." I would say casual European gent. I like very low-key styling, off-set and darker-shade colors for clothing, not too loose or too sharp of a look, one that conveys casualness spiked with elegance.

Actually, I think this question is unfairly worded. No one will call themselves an "American slob", and those that do will debate that only stuck up "Europeans" would even care about such a term. On the other hand, English "gent" sounds very nice, it is not nearly as extreme as "American slob." Why not say "English clean-cut" or something? Because that sounds a little more elitist or something? Well, that's my point, add "gent" and it sounds nice on anything. I am an American gent. I am an Indian gent. I am a French gent. I am an Iranian gent. I am a Canadian gent. All sound nice, more or less. Or use "American carefree" instead of "American slob", because I think "American carefree" is actually a better description of the majority of young Americans' styling.
