i still believe both parties could get along as along as they respect each others belief, most atheist i know are former catholics and evangelical christian who have fallen away from the faith due to personal tragedies in their lives which has lead them to think and deny that if there is a supreme being . atheist woulds ask such questions like, would such a powerful creator allows suffering and pain to be experience by his creation? that is where there denial of an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God starts to disappear. just have them look around their surrounding and they can see for themselves the awesome power of God in display. they just deny that their is a God to mask away their pain.

Yes. Christianity is being diluted from within with every passing minute. Many so-called "Christian" churches barely even crack a Bible, and rarely go further than a few convenient passages...mostly ones that were stolen from pre-existing ancient philosophies and earlier religions. They try to "connect" with the younger generation --who see their falsehoods and manipulations for what they are -- by dumbing down the fire and brimstone for more "good news" messages and "life lessons". Christianity will decay into nothing more than the basic human moral laws that existed since the beginning/evolution of man (well over 6000 years ago). Once its gone, christians will no longer have the power to brainwash and manipulate, or spread their fear and hate. Therefore, they and atheists alike will both rely on common sense, logic, and reality...and, thus, will "get along". Education and knowledge is the key to Man's future, and with this knowledge and education, the decline of mythologies is inevitable.

As individuals I think a lot of us do. I really like and respect many of the atheists on here, and some of them seem to like me. So much of the problem is the mutual lack of respect I see from some Christians and some atheists. Until those people learn that they can listen to and respect anothers opinion without compromising theirs, then we will have conflict.

I get along with SOME Christians...usually the ones who have a sense of humor and who aren't all gung-ho about force feeding their religion to others.

I get along with christians every day... until they realize I'm an atheist and decide I'm no better than a devil-worshiper.
What the hell is THAT all about???

If they ever stop trying to "save" or "educate" one another and accept each other as they are, not as the other would like them to be, then yes, I think they can get along with each other.

i should be way off base right here yet i pass to pass forward and take a great bounce and say that Christians are much extra tolerant of Atheists than Atheist are of Christians. i do no longer stay in the deep south the place issues get violent, my reports have been commonly in a social realm. Christians purely prefer to enable you to recognize their tale and atheists have already heard it. you notice a great form of "appreciate my ideals" and "do purely no longer push your ideals on me". i will understand why human beings could say that, yet easily it fairly is not that way with me. You pushing your ideals on me does not injury me. it fairly is slightly a waste of time, even though it does not actually injury me. i do no longer appreciate your ideals. i hit upon your ideals very stupid. i hit upon your ideals to the factor of absurdity that it is not in straightforward terms comical yet additionally perplexing for me to truly have faith which you fairly carry those innovations on your head. With that being suggested I have not have been given any concern respecting you as a man or woman as long as you're a known rate individual. i do no longer think of ideals play right into a individual's respectability, i think of respectability is in straightforward terms based on the strikes of that individual. in spite of the fact that if those persons strikes (objectionable or no longer) are consistent with their ideals adjustments from individual to individual. I even have had many friends that are Christian and we've gotten alongside high-quality. as a fashion to respond to your question extra precisely, a huge volume (and that i does not hesitate to declare maximum of the human beings) of folk already do get alongside with people who don't proportion their ideals (or lack thereof.) yet it fairly is one opinion between many.

It depends on the atheist and the Christian we're talking about.

Some get along right now.

Some never will.
