It depends. Many Christians are intelligent, considerate and believe what they do because of good, logical reasons.
Others are hypocritical morons.
Like the saying says, every village has its idiot.

So, if they are arguing if God exist or not is what you are talking about, I am guessing.
I would say it very much depends on the Christian, although many Christians are very ignorant, (so is most of the population, many people aren’t educated), it is just that the ignorant part of the population that is atheist does not care to argue (they realize they would look like morons) the ignorant Christians unfortunately.. do not come to this conclusion! So if you were to have an argument with say a Christian that has a masters in physics, then they would be able to explain God using complex concepts and such just like the atheist that have masters or other such degrees do the universe! I am a Christian and I am going for my masters in Computer Science and I know better than to argue with someone about God, it is a philosophical argument and can NEVER be proved either way (well, at least it couldn’t be proved that God existed, if it did it would ruin the point of God and faith and everything else). The biggest problem with arguing about God is that, most commonly people say if there is no God where did everything come from? People that don’t believe in God however will say, if there is a God, where did God come from, then the Christians say "He has always been and always will be" and they say, so has the universe... you just spin in circles, what is the point in arguing? I am a Christian because I believe in God, and heck, if I am wrong and you are right.. no big deal.. but if you are wrong and I am right, sweet deal for me!

Actually, I am both a Christian and a "PHD"....
But it depends on what atheist and what Christians. There are atheist who can make an intelligent defense of their faith, and some who have no clue why they believe what they do. Some with Christians, there are many who can make inteligent defenses for their faith. Read anything written by CS Lewis, or the writings of some of the great theologians like Thomas Aquinna or St Jerome. Classics which have stood the test of time, and provided argument that no atheist has yet been able to disprove.
Check out the religion and philosophy section of the library sometime. You may be surprised how many excellent intelligent books there are that defend both sides of the religious question.
So it depends on which atheist is debating which Christians.

Its about as similar to an atheist posting something like this. You would think an atheist who relies on only proof not to be so CLOSED minded when there is no proof either way. Its really easy just to accept that one can act what ever way they want and not feel bad or guilty about it whatsoever. Its really easy to act in ways that are immoral, but not illegal because there is no legal penalty. In most cases the atheists can simply justify all their actions weather right wrong or indifferent with the simple solution that they don't know the difference from right and wrong. In simple terms because its easy to say "pfft theres no consequences for any of my actions as long as I dont get caught" So tell me whos acting like the 3 year old?

No, not always. There are as many intelligent christians as there are stupid college graduates (more of both than you can imagine).
But I will grant you that in most of the arguments, I've found that I end up thinking both are three year olds, and seriously in need of a MAJOR time out!

Absolutely not. Its like a socialist arguing with a capitalist. Or an industrialist and an envirenmentalist. A new age hippie and a veteran.

You think you are very slick, saying that being an atheist, you are a lot more intelligent and educated than a Christian. But the truth is that they have faith and you don't, that's all.

To quote Pres Ronald Reagan... "Well... THERE you GO again!"
You just never disappoint me, do you? I hardly have to turn my back and you are insulting Christians for their beliefs (and yet you DEMAND US to "respect" YOUR "beliefs"... or lack thereof), by calling them ALL sorts of "stupid/dumb/idiotic... etc."
Sorry, hon... it won't fly. I have realized why you have to maintain that Christians are stupid... because if Christians were NOT stupid, then what we believe in would then have credibility... and we cannot have THAT!! That would mean that you would have to rethink YOUR position on what you believe, or not believe. That would mean that we would be on a level with you, and that you would HAVE to respect our views, which would give them credance, which means that your non-belief would be called into question.
Yep... that's the reason you HAVE to call us dumb. Anything MORE than DUMB and YOU are in TROUBLE!
So... thanks... once again... for proving us right.
Have a blessed day.

Not at all.
It's more like two people from different countries trying to have a debate, and neither speaking the other's language.
Lacking in this debate is common ground from which to start, and common language with which to communicate.
