The "wiring" is really copper etched into patterns on a plastic (or fiberglass+gel) circuit board.

There are usually plastic coated components held on with solder, like resistors and LEDs.

There are rubber and conductive rubber keys inside that close contacts on the circuit board.

There is the molded plastic case.
