Why are you putting this on Yahoo Answers?! You're going to get a bunch of people just yelling at you about using drugs.
Anyway, it's pretty common for pregnant women to be drug tested. Doctors know that patients routinely underreport and that you are not likely going to tell them that you are using illegal drugs. If it was something like marijuana, you will likely just get a lecture and they'll probably test you again to be sure that you stop using. If it was something serious, like heroin, they are going to do more than lecture because that is a serious addiction and you can't just quit because the withdrawal symptoms can actually kill the baby. There is a drug that is prescribed to pregnant heroin addicts so that they don't use... forget what it's called but that's beside the point. If it is something like that you will be closely monitored and may be sent to rehab to ensure that you do not further harm the baby. They may call social services, but social services cannot/will not intervene until the baby is born. Also, if you stop using they likely will not call social services when the baby is born. My advice is to be honest with your doctor when the tests come back, and to quit using. I'm assuming that you were using whatever substance before finding out you were pregnant, so now that you know you need to quit (if you haven't already) in order to make sure that your child isn't negatively impacted. Good luck!

They could make you go to rehab, and if you fail the next test and/or your child tests positive at birth (all babies are tested at birth), your baby will go into foster care and you'll face child endangerment charges. Do the responsible thing and clean up your act NOW! Junkies don't make good mothers, no matter what you try to tell yourself. What's worse is you don't show any concern for what might happen to your unborn baby because of your STUPID choices; all you care about is what might happen to you. In other posts, you say you and Hubby were TTC. So you were TRYING to get pregnant, and still used drugs?! Is your picture, by any chance, in the dictionary next to unfit mother?

quit doing the stupid stuff now so that you can be a mom to your baby when it arrives. I hope that you are sooo early that you didnt know you were pregnant while you were having your fun or whatever you call it! I cannot imagine that isnt the case. I hope you step up and become a mom that a child deserves!
As for your question, your doctor can report you to family services. They can make your life hell for the next nine months and in some states put in prison to make sure you stay clean and dont continue to harm your child. I just hope that isnt what happens to you unless you need it! GOOD LUCK!!!

At my first prenatal they did a pap and did an ultrasound. They desired to be certain the whole lot was once adequate on account that I miscarried a couple of years in the past, and feature PCOS. I was once nine weeks and a couple of days and sure I might pay attention the heart beat. Every medical professional is extraordinary so they will do matters in a different way for you.

You had to have consented to the drug screen UNLESS you have Medicaid, in which case you can be tested w/o your consent. Drug screens are not part of the routine New OB labs. Are you sure this was even done?
Please, for the safety and health of you and your unborn child stop abusing drugs. There are several outreach assistance programs available free of charge. This is no longer about just you!

I hope the drugs are still in your system from before you knew you were pregnant.. If not then Im sorry I can't have any sympathy for you.. If it is from before you knew then I believe they can notify Childrens Aid.. at least that is how it works here.. But as long as you stay clean I don't believe they will do anymore then interview you and check up to see that you are clean.

It's weird that they drug tested you... how old are you, and could your parents have asked for this? I don't believe they can do anything, they just usually take your word on whether or not you've done drugs or not. ....usually the only testing they do is std, and aids... but legally, they can't do anything... but now that you're going to be a mother, be sure and put all that behind you... you've got someone to take care of now...

Why would you even be doing drugs knowing your pregnant? Wow, keep going down that road and you're going to be a great parent. Stop being selfish, you got pregnant..the part of your life that is all about you is OVER, it's all about your baby. Time to grow up precious.

I don't even think they can legally do a drug test without your signature or if you're underage your parents signature. But if they do the most they'll probably do is tell you to stop while you are pregnant.
