My fiance and I had a big fight yesterday and he hit me. He didn't punch me or anything like that but he did slap me and I started crying but not because it hurt but because I was shocked by the whole thing. I've been with him for a long time and he hasn't done anything like this before and I'm sure I can trust him to never do it again but my friend told me I shouldn't. Should I?

i would not trust him. if he hit you once he will do it again and next time it may not be just a slap he may really hurt you. this is not a place you want to be just because he had never done it before does not mean he will not do it again. you don't hit someone then say i love you. i mean how can you love someone you just beat up on. lose him and find some that will not hit you before it is to late.

No. You can trust him to never do it again? You know him that well? How come you was so shocked when it happened. You don't know anything except he is capable of slapping you if he gets mad enough. The question is: Why are you tolerating this even once....and how long will you tolerate this at all.

NOPE, he just opened the door for future BEATINGS, a man that'll hit a woman, won't hit a man, cause he'll get hit back!!! If you put up with this 1 time , your doomed!! Remind him of jail!! your daddy!!! your brothers!!! He'll think twice!! and if he does leave, have him arrested ,and never go back!!!!!

You can never be 100% sure that he won't hit you again. You should dump this jerk. Real men don't hit or slap women.

I would get him to put it in writing and acknowledge that he hit you and promise (again, in writing) that he won't do it again and photocopy it. Give it to him to show to his mother or father and you guys should have a chat.
If an argument turns physical, he doesn't have as much respect for you as you may think.

OMG!! You need to dump him know!!! Get out of that relationship KNOW while you CAN!!! If he slapped you imagine if he hits you more!! Please for the sake of preventing having an abusive husband!! You don't want to marry someone that hit you!! Please think about what is best for you

you should leave his abusive self....i mean it is 100% wrong for a man to hit a woman under any circumstance in my book.
i mean come on he cant be a man.....what kind of guy would do that to you, especially if he loved you, no matter how mad he got he wouldnt hit you....
thats my opinion anyway, i say leave him......
