Everyone finds their own reasons to be 'here'.
Everyone's life is different therefore what its about depends on the eyes of the beholder. For example, a poor African child sees life as looking for the next meal, struggling to stay alive while the overweight population of first world countries think it's about having more possessions. It varies from one person to the next and social circumstances affect the perception.
God as written by a mere male, like in the bible, q'ran, etc. is a way of maintaining control over the masses- especially women. Take a look at these facts to see what I mean:
Men's sexual peak is between 14 and 25,
Women's sexual awakening doesn't occur until they're around 40.
At the time of the writing of the Q'ran, Bible, et al,40 year old men were marrying 14 yr old girls- in the name of God.
Rich Jews were in control of the government while the mass died from hunger, beatings and/or fun (see Gladiator).
Jesus comes along and stands up to the politicians of the time, talking of equality- he gets crucified. He also said, if the accounts in the bible are to be believed, that he should not be idolised- though that wouldn't have made the Church as much money!
The council of Nicaea decided what was to be contained in the scriptures to unite the different tribes under Constantine I.
Humans are mammals- just like animals and it has been proven sex is a NEED not a desire, yet most religions condemn it!
And they were just a few facts from the top of my head. Now you do some research and decide!

That is an excellent question to keep on your mind while you live. What seems to me is that we are here in a world that isn't perfect or easy and isn't meant to be, so that we can learn by our experiences. How we handle difficulties presents us with an idea where we are. Our goal is to grow to be the most mature person, the kindest and best person we can be. That makes us people that can fit in to a society that is full of kindness and goodness. Whether you are religious or not this approach is the best fore everyone, the people that are growing and the people around them. Because this is a tough rule to follow there are many who object to the notion that this is what is meant for us. That is OK. There is a lot written about why they are here and where they will go.

To bring God glory by choosing Godly ways through Jesus and the Cross,
Serving others more than ourselves, Scientifically proven that it makes people feel good to help others. Science proves christian behavior is healthy for man and mental/physical health.
I have no doubt in my life through experiences that give others goose bumps when I tell them my journey in Christ.
Nope , no doubt. TRUTH
A serious prayer for Jesus to cleans a your sins and come into your life and teach you how to be a child of God is the steps of faith that will allow God to remove all doubt in your heart that wells up inside you and convinces you of He is real.
It is awesome and I will serve the Lord.

God is real. If you really want answers to questions about God you need to go to the best source, the bible. Here's a little primer. God created you. He loves you. He wants you to love Him. He has aplan for you. It's in the bible. It's a great plan. I am enjoying it. Wouldn't miss it for the world. Ask Jesus to help you understand it all. He will.

You have some faith, or you wouldn't have asked this question. If you have enough faith to answer this question, then perhaps you have enough faith to talk to the only person who can really answer it for you... God. Pray to Him, dust off your Bible, and as you feel Him working in your life and changing your heart you will know He is real, and what your purpose is.

I think we are each here for a special purpose. I think life is about loving people. It's about being good, and experiencing all the emotions that we have.
Yes. I believe G-d is real.
When you doubt, it means you are about to take a journey to discovering G-d.
