You don't need to go near Tenterfield. You can get a bus from Texas to Brisbane and a bus from Brisbane to Lismore then one to Nimbin. Buses from Brisbane go down the Pacific Highway to Ballina where you change. There could well be a bus from Ballina to Nimbin which means you don't need to go to Lismore either.

Coming from VIC i think of you would be plenty greater well-off in NSW. The states are very plenty a similar, the optimum ameliorations being theres no trams in NSW and the climate is somewhat warmer. NSW/ Sydney is great for nightlife, eating places, cafes, etc.. QLD is a much greater touristy place to stay, even in Brissy it lacks what environment there is in Sydney and Melbourne. WA is a slower city, gradually starting to be yet nevertheless doesnt sense like residing house. the only unfavorable to NSW is that it is the main costly state in Australia. yet comparable to VIC there's no great difference.
