Religion is something you practice and share with the community whether they are family, friends, neighbors or just go to the same church. It can be taken away (books, buildings, your way of life, your life itself), hidden, defaced by others.
Spirituality is something YOU hold INSIDE. It's between you and yours. It can never be taken away and is always protected by your heart. It will live even if you die. It is what guides you through your life or doesn't. Your spirituality is what you would call on in times of "trouble" deep inside to help you through. (just my opinion though)

religion is a institution replete with politics for many while spirituality is a state of mind ,personal feeling , of the individual. An atheist can meditate such as in some atheistic sects of Buddhism and not believe in a theist morality yet not slight morality and still attain spiritual enlightenment .

Religion is a certain type of belief and Spirituality is when you connect with God and grow in your Spirit. One can be spiritual without religion and one can be religious without being spiritual.
Don't get the two confused.

Religion is the gathering of people who worship a particular Deity. Spirituality is finding ones inner peace/harmony (meditation, hypnosis, etc).
This is probably the first genuine question asked here all day.

Religion depends on the person and their own beliefs,Spirituality is really self exploration as to ones own spirit and universal connections...look it up. They are both kinda the same;but they're not.
