I hunt first and foremost for the meat, I have never killed a animal that I am not going to eat simply for fun. I have killed animals out of mercy but that is within reason.
Second I do it to test my skills, I love archery
Third, I obey game laws and set limits to control population.

i like DumDum's answer - rather that its frustrating to truly decide what it potential once you do no longer see that many animals and all activity animals are rather properly regulated to maintain inhabitants. I merely got here upon some stats that shows the style of activity animals is plenty bigger now than while the 1st settlers hit united states of america. The carrying means is amazingly severe average and there are a lot of areas the place animal numbers are extensive... and there is no looking (inner maximum land, city environment.) yet to take it to my own 'actual international' adventure elk looking. all of us be attentive to from the surveys executed in Colo. that the elk numbers are in general slowly increasing (comparable for moose and turkey.) yet there are years while hunters are seeing no longer something and intensely few animals are being taken. Does that advise that we would desire to constantly all be stable activities, confirm the inhabitants would desire to be dwindling and circulate living house to enable them to recuperate their numbers??? No. that must be naive. what's rather happening is that the animals are all clustered up on inner maximum land and distant sections of public land or at diverse altitudes. Its time to get smart and re-evaluate my approach of the place to seek. And if i ultimately do see my elk, you be attentive to i'm somewhat going to take it. i would be between the few hunters that are powerful that year. (Its occurred.) considering which you reported them i ought to assert some thing comparable for grouse. I often see plenty during the summer. I under no circumstances knew precisely what became happening as they looked as though it would constantly dissapear by way of sometime interior the fall. i ultimately discovered they actually circulate as much as bigger elevation during the wintry climate and dissapeared from the elevation of my sources.

There is no way to differentiate between the two. Ethical Hunters all help to thin out herds, provide food, and have fun while doing it.
