Well, when you feed the cat, does he/she come without being called? Any animal I've ever owned comes running when they hear the food hit the bowl.

Standing behind kitty and stomping will not really prove anything...he/she will feel the vibrations on the floor and most likely react to that. Take him/her into the vet to be sure. I have a cat who will completly ignore me when I call him, clap, anything like that, but I know he is not deaf.

Does the cat move his ears when you clap. If he does or does not respond I would get him in to get checked out any way it just means if he moves his ears then his ears must be clogged.

The inside of their ears can look perfectly normal, yet a cat can be completely deaf.
One of ours lost his hearing, we didn't even notice till he started talking louder to us, and he stopped moving his ears around.
If your cat doesn't move the ears to hear sounds around him, like birds, cars, the tv, people walking, then yes, he may be deaf.

I really do think you should get him/her checked out.The way they check out kittens is : they stand behind the kitten and the kitten doesnt know your there and clap or make a loud, annoying noise.if they don't do anything go check you cat out!!!! good luck!

Umm.. I'm not really sure well try this:
1. Stomp really loud on the ground and he will probably move if he does then he's probably not deaf.
And I think that's all if I find anything else out then i'll just edit my answer unless you already picked best answer xD
