I'm thinking one person gives a fantastic explanation, in-depth, describing everything evolution has to offer; then everyone interested copies it down somewhere for future use.

No no, not qiki. I mean some talented person who can fit the 15 years of education needed to understand biology, into 999 letters.

well mine isn't fantastically in-depth, but...

I'm sorry. can I please be rude for a second. YOU IDIOT!Sorry. I just had to get that off my chest.

If you are going to ask questions and doubt evolution, then you had better know what you are arguing against. Nothing devalues a person's argument more than incorrect "facts"

According to evolution, we did not evolve from the monkeys we know today. we share a common ancestor with monkeys, and several million years ago, we went our separate ways, with monkeys and apes developing in one direction while we developed in another.
The process used for this is called "natural selection," whereas the only specimens of a specific species (try saying that three times fast) which survives are the ones which can survive certain environmental obsacles.
They then pass their "superior" DNA down to their children. Human haves done a similiar thing with dogs.
While this is all technically "theory" because we don't have a time machine to go back and check if we are right, there is substantial evidence supporting it, and most of the scientific community accepts it as fact.

And when I mean "substantial" evidence, I'm talking about whole lot more evidence than there is for "creation." But then again, there is no evidence for creationism.

And so, finally, I get to my point. Evolution is science. You can test it, gather evidence for it, hypothesis upon it and improve apon it. Creation is not science. It is faith. and so you don't need proof.
But that also means you can't teach it in a science class.

unfortunately, you can't convert people through arguing with them. that just strengthens their own beliefs.

I just love how they think they're somehow presenting an intelligent debate, when they can't even be bothered to learn anything about what it is they're claiming is incorrect. How can you argue that something's incorrect if you don't know anything about it?
It's gotten to the point where I don't even consider it a debate OR an argument anymore. It's just creationists harassing scientists with repetitive, ignorant arguments and claims in hopes that they'll quit in frustration. That's all it is. Harassment. lol.

The IQ for someone to be able to cut and paste an answer is slightly higher than those who don't know what Google or Wikipedia is.

I agree Monkeys are too smart to be characterized as religious nuts like Ted Haggard , Jimmie Swaggart or other TV evangelists.

You are so right

There are plenty of great sites you can link to. Heck the Wiki article isn't too bad. The thing is they don't really want an answer.

Yes, the theory of evolution has thankfully graduated from "theory" status. It pains me when xtains question "if you think we come from apes". How many times do I have to say that we did not come from apes!!!

it would probably be more than four sentences and no one would want to read that much, even if they wanted an answer
