I am an independent 21 year old woman. I do not ask for much from the men that I meet. Like any woman all I want is love and attention. I have considered myself a good girlfriend, but I find that in the long run that men do not seem to appreciate that, so I ask do men really want a good woman? I have guy friends who are with women that treat them like crap but yet and still they take it and give them the world.Where is the logic in that? Some of my friends have told me to stop being good to guys, but why should I or any decent woman out there have to change who we are in order to get a man to appreciate us it does not make sense to me whatsoever. Most men will tell you that they want a decent woman but I am starting to wonder about that. Men these days have lowered their standards and seem to have lost the sense of who they really are.

Well, it depends on the man and it depends what you mean by "good". Your "good" may be different from his "good". Ultimately, men want a woman they think they can be happy with, "good" or "bad". What makes a man happy is quite often very different from what makes a woman happy, which may explain why you don't understand.
Men essentially want someone they can have freaky sex with, who they feel comfortable with and does not stress them out, these are the essentials. After that, there is a lot of variation. Of course, people can choose badly sometimes or put up with more than they should. If they are getting 2 out of the 3 essentials, of which the great sex is one, or at least the great sex, then they may feel inclined to stick around for a while despite deficiencies in other areas. This may explain why some of your male friends stay with women who treat them badly. Either this or they are omega type males who simply don't have the temperament to stand up for themselves or acquire girlfriends without great difficulty.

I want a good woman, io have a gf at the moment and i think she is a good person. I actually have high standards personality wise, looks comes second. But i do agree that most men dont care how a woman acts just as long as they "put out" easily. However I have always just been looking for a person i could fall in love with and possibly marry in the future.
