I think you are referring to the hamstring tendons, and as you age, they tend to tighten up so that you can't touch your toes while keeping your legs straight. A sports physiotherapist once showed me a technique for loosening these, but it requires a helper. You lie on your back, with one knee bent, the other leg straight. The helper lifts up the straight leg to the point where it just begins to hurt. Usually, you can get the leg high enough so that the helper can support your ankle on their shoulder. Then you press down as hard as you can with that leg for a count of ten. The helper may need to hold your hip down while you do this. When you relax, the helper lifts the leg further to the point of pain. Again, you press down for a ten count. The helper lifts the leg further, and you press down a third time. The helper lifts the leg one last time and holds it just below the pain point for a count of ten, then you put the leg down. Repeat with the other leg. Do this once a day, and those tendons will gradually stretch more and more. Just be sure to do all the movements slowly and carefully.

Don't fear. It occurs to such a lot individuals while stretching in splits, its simply stretching a muscle close your knee which will harm a bit however not anything is critically incorrect. It occurred to me and because the different individual mentioned it is going to depart as you get extra bendy.
