You have no right to consider yourself ugly on your own. You need my permission for that and you are not going to get that. Ugly is defined (by me) as someone who does ugly things. It is NOT determined by appearance. And that is not to even hint that you are not physically attractive.
Sometimes people lash out due to frustration and the victims of that lashing are those physically nearest them. Is your mom under severe pressure? That could include economic pressure that she is trying to keep from you. You might wait a day or two and then tell her that you felt very hurt when she said what what did. Yo may find out that you were just the nearest target when she badly needed to discharge some anger.

Are you asian? I am. My mom told me to stick it the other day cuz she was too cheap to tip the waitress. That was after she made me go to the ghetto to sell aluminum cans with her. Then, she made me give a homeless guy that reeked of beer a ride. He was wanting to get out cuz he just sold enough cans for more beer, but my mom kept insisting on driving him to his "supposed" home. Dude thought he was getting abducted probably! Jumped out of the car at the next stoplight. Then, by her constant backseat driving, she steered me into more ghetto territory. Then she was all fascinated because she never saw that part of town before. I was pissed off though from having to waste a lot of gas. Anyway, moms can be pretty mean like dads can.

Ha ha. This isn't an answer just an opinion. Love the poem. Lost my mum 2 years ago and everday I wished she could do all the mean things you state in the poem. I only have a mean DAD and I love it. If meanness means I become what I was intended to be : SURE! Why not! Thanks to all mean mums. I love and value u all!

Not only is she mean, she childish... to come at her own daughter like that is very mean and cruel. Her mother must of treated her that way.
When she tells you something like that again just reply back (ever looked in the mirror?) It will make her mad and think twice before she tells you that again.

No you're not. You are not ugly. I know I'm right. You are not ugly. I have never seen an ugly person who is nice. And I don't mean to say that I don't think you're ugly because you're nice, either. You aren't ugly because you don't look bad. Don't ever believe anyone who says otherwise.
Families fight. Don't let it be that way. Make up. Put it back as best as you can. And remember -- you're not ugly. Not to me.

That was a really mean thing for her to say. I believe that every girl is beautiful in her own way. And yes, this is coming from a thirteen year old girl. I think you should tell her how you feel. She probably didn't mean it though, she might just have been upset and took it out on you. Keep smiling! :D

I would never tell you that if you were my daughter! I wish I knew you and I bet there is something beautiful about you that makes you special! I hope and pray that you seek out people in your life who support and care for you and avoid people who act like her. Remember our "family" doesn't have to be our blood relatives. It can be the people who we pick to be our friends and "sisters" and "brothers". I have a whole set of "family" I have met over the years because I didn't have real family. I hope the same for you!
People who are mean and insulting have more problems than you- make something of yourself despite them! You are stronger than the rest of us because you survive that kind of treatment.
