That's alot for just liability, something doesn't add up. I'd be calling the agent and asking for a review of your policy, making sure all info is correct.

ok- first of all you did not specify if this premium was annual or semiannual. So it would be hard to say if this extremely high. Also the type vehicle can affect your rate and how your insurer has your vehicle classed can also affect the rates and also the area in which you live. You may want to look at your coverages and see what limits of liability you are carrying and ask an agent about lowering them if they are too high. Insurance at your age is going to be high- but it does not have to be ridiculous- you should just make sure you have an agent who is willing to explain things to you and review your coverages with you from time to time.

Sounds cheap to me, even if it is 6 months & liability only. When I was 23 (19 years ago) my first auto policy on my own was $1600/yr. It went down to $1400 when I was 25. Insurance has gone way up since then. Now, I am in a rural state & pay over $1100 for 2 cars (neither one is new), with homeowners credit & both of us are in our 40s.

That's the whole bill for the 6 months or whatever the time frame is. That isn't how much you owe right now. Divide it by the number of months your insurance is valid.

You didn't say whether that was for a year or 6 months. Either way.....insurance for young drivers is expensive. Get used to it.

For 6 months, or for the full year?
Sounds pretty good to me. I have two teenagers driving and I pay about $5800/year for our family.

We don't really have enough information to answer. Best to call your agent and ask them. Your agent will be familiar with your company's underwriting guidelines and pricing structure.
