I have a dry mouth as it is, and I can not get enough spit to make it seal. So I have to use water. But now they have the ones with the self adhesive.

I always lick them very carefully so I don't cut myself, and I don't really like the taste. Still I'm usually too lazy to walk to the tap, I rarely use snail-mail anyhow these days.

I don't like the self-adhesive ones as much, they don't seem to be stuck as tight. When opening envelopes, sometimes they come open very easily, the ones you lick are much stronger. I'd rather have a bit of a foul taste in my mouth than having my mail opening up & losing my letter!

Yeah, and according to Seinfeld you could day if you lick to many hahaha. It's pretty gross anyways. Mmm chemicals. I wonder what took them so long to come up with self adhesive envelopes.

I think the wax seal is pretty cool if you can do it.

I even have a chum who used to artwork in a production facility that makes those style of envelopes. He observed me licking an envelope sooner or later and advised me to in no way lick them, that roaches love the sticky stuff. So i might say, yeah its achievable.

I don't like it at all - I only buy the self-adhesive ones! I have gotten paper cuts, and sometimes, like you, could not get enough spit to seal it! It is awful!

Ew no way... it makes you feel sick after a bit. Actually office stores have this new squeezable tube with a sponge at the end, for around 2 dollars, and your run it across envelopes to seal it. It's the best!

I actually love the taste of envelopes. The sad part is that where I work as a medical filer, I'm not allowed to lick them because of germ spread--instead we have this little bottle that has water in it and wets it down so that it will stick.

I usually just lick it if it's one or two. If it's a large number of envelopes, a damp rag does the trick.

I use a glue stick. Licking envelopes is unsanitary. You don't know what it came in contact with before it got to you. You don't know what's in the glue either.

NO I do not. The taste is not god. Self adhesive is better.

No way! I've cut my lip. I use tape if they don't have the self-adhesive backing. . .
