St. John, by far. It is rich - it is profound - it is special. I love to read it again and again.

Luke is my favorite to read because it feels more geared to the average human experience. More personal interest stuff. Also, the common belief is that Luke was a doctor and perhaps because I grew up in a medical family, it's a more familiar bent. There are times when each of the others fills a particular need, though. Like John is recommended for newer believers.

I go through phases where I spend a lot of time with one particular gospel. Right now it's John for me. But before that it was Matthew. And I've probably studied Mark more over the years than the others. They're all good.

Matthew- Portrays CHrist as King
Mark - Portrays Him as a Slave Savior in His humanity
Luke Portrays Him as a Fine Man Savior in His Humanity
John Portrays Him as the Word of God in His Divinity
I really appreciate all the accounts given in each of the gospels but I'd have to say that the book of John has always ministered so much life to me. When I was discovering the Lord in a deeper way it was the Book of John that I studied and fed from. I think the part that touched me the most was the footwashing, the Shepherding and the way He is Life to us in every way. Not only Life ( john 10:10) but the very supply.
I remember coming home from the bus after a long day of walking all over. So much bombarding me in my mind through people's conversation all the worldly things. SO much ' Dust" collected on my feet spiritually. But in the bus I pulled out my study material for the book of John and enjoyed the verses related to Him washing the feet of the disciples. Humbling Himself in such a demonstration of love to serve those that He will die for. Spiritually.. right there in the bus by the washing water in the word I felt the Lord inwardly washing my spiritual feet of all the dust that I collected .. just the contact with the Word began welling up in me a spring of living water...by the time i left that bus I felt my innermost being bubbling up. I could not wait to get home to wash the feet of my husband.. just sharing of the rich enjoyment and supply of grace and water in the word. It was such a practical real experience of being washed and washing othere's feet. I thank the Lord for each and every book of the Word of God. That even though we have our favourites and preferences ALL is ours. Praise the Lord...
Ty for taking the time to post again brother

Jeepers! All four are super and give a different perspective on some of the same happenings.
Matthew's gospel was written to the Jews and points to Christ as King, through the genelogy, baptism, messages, miracles, death and resurrection.
Mark portrays Jesus as a Servant, His preaching, teaching and healing.
Luke writes of the Humanity of Christ, with compassion and the giver of life unto death.
Beloved John writes of the Diety of Christ with resurrection to a new life.
Each one is important and I believe God gave us these gospels so that we could see the whole picture.
I couldn't choose, there is importance in each.

John by far. He views Jesus the most spiritual. He seemed to be the closest to Jesus. Jesus even gave him his own mother to take into his house at the cross. He didn't put up with false gospels. I understood the gospel the clearest through reading John's gospel when I was first saved. Can't wait to meet him in heaven and thank him for his great writings.

I like John - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1
I like Luke - "And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed." - Christmas Story Luke 2:1
I like Mark - "And Jesus looking upon them saith, 'With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.'"
I like Matthew - "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"
I love them all.

Well
3 come from the same source, the so-called Q document (Called Synoptic) so you only have two really.
Read them "both".
I prefer however to read " A Course in Miracles" since this is only what JC has to say, and not what M,M,L.and J would have you think.

I like Mark. It was the first of the four canonical gospel written and I like that it ends with a mystery...the resurection sightings were added on later.
