I was in the same boat. Trust me, if your lifestyle allows you to, take the sub job, it has changed my life going from thinking of work 24/7 to actually enjoy getting up in the morning. It pays 5500 less a year but i am much happier!!

As someone who has worked for over 40 years at quite a few jobs I have to say doing a job you like is more important than earning a big salary. Of course that's easy to say if you have someone else who can help pay the bills, not so easy if you don't. Working in a job you dislike or hate wears you down and can make the other people who know you and work with as miserable as you. I think you have to decide if you can afford to pay your way on the salary you are earning at the moment and also what the long term job prospects are. For instance is there the chance of promotion in your current job which would in the future get you more money. It would be easy for me to say stay where you are because you are happy there but if there are things you still want to acquire like a house, car etc then you may want to go for the bigger salary. It has to be your decision.

What is more important to you and your family?

You getting stressful and maybe getting ill, and therefore end up with no money - or you being happy, and being able to spend time with the family, no matter what you make.

If you cant afford to pay your rent, you should think about moving to a smaller house or less costly apartment.

Money is NOT always the most important thing. I think being happy is more important. Especially in this current political climate.

That's a tough call. Is there an option C? Ha.

If you can afford it, I'd take the subbing until it leads to something better, and/or you find something else with reliable pay and still fun.
