try acting like you are a hurt dog when he/she bites you. That can help. Also, buy some chew toys. Puppies can start to bite real bad when they teath. If that doesn't work, there is a product called bitterapple that you can find online, and when she bites you, put the nozzle to her mouth and spray. It tastes awful to them, but can do no harm. That's how I got my dogs to stop biting. I used bitterapple to stop them from jumping when they got bigger too.

She's playing is all, plus she is "teething" as she gets her new teeth. Get her some chew toys that squeak and also one of those Kong toys and put peanut butter in it.

Best also be preapred to give the others toys or there will be jealosuy problems.

Don't play rough with her to where she bites, snarls and growls, that encourages bad behavior. Most important, quit hitting and holding the mouth. You'll just make her angry and she'll bite more.

A/O: 10-05-07: You're so right, whoever you are... I have given this young lady such bad advice. I've only had dogs all my life and am over 1/2 a century in age and have NEVER held ones mouth shut, hit their nose or had to punish them by putting them in a kennel they should feel safe and comfoatable in NOT wondering what they did wrong. I've never had one turn on me, they have all been well disciplined and have always loved them and they loved me. Guess I must have did something terribly wrong huh?

I have had 3 lab pups, I know what you are going through!
she is teething right now and yes she does need a lot of chew toys/puppy bones etc. When you or a friend/family play with her don't use your hands to tease her that will make her think you are playing and she will bite.. or you can flip her in the nose and say NO!!!

I would suggest first getting a chew toy. After introducing the chew toy to her when she bites you get another member of the family that the dog knows and doesn't bite get them to say in a strong voice "NO!". Don't yell just get a certain tone and use the soame tone whenever she does something else wrong and eventually she'll link the tone with the fact she's doing something she's not supposed to.

When my dog was a pup she did the same thing. Next time she does it try holding on to her tongue for a few seconds whenever she bites you. It'll hurt like hell (your hand, not the dog), but be consistent. I did that over a few days and she got the idea.
