most computers these days come with a free trial but you have to pay for the full version so their you computer should give you the option to pay for the full version when the trail runs out.

or you can buy it at Microsoft.com or bestbuy.com or many more electronic stores.

Sorry. Word, which is part of the Microsoft Office program, is not free.

There is free software called Open Office which is supposed to be close to MS Office. Open Office can be converted to MS Office at a free, online converter at www.media-convert.com -- but Open Office and Microsoft Office remain two separate programs.

Download Open Office here:

If you want MS Word and don't want to pay $150 for the Home/Student version of Office 2007 (or the $70 that MS is charging students for it), you can purchase a copy of MS Works Office Suite 2001, which has a copy of Word 2000 on it. It will install even on Vista. If you're interested you can get it on amazon.com for $10 including shipping.

i had the same problem. u cant really down load it illegaly if u have a windows computer bc it will know its illegal and u will have to pay a thousand dollare fine. Microsoft is serious about this kind of stuff. I would buy it its expensive but worth it. by the way next time u buy a dell (which i wouldnt they suck and their tec support is horrible) you can buy micrsoft word for it its alot cheeper that way.
