my sister has to finish 20 more hours of community service by the end of the semester, and she was thinking of working in an animal shelter. so does anyone know any good places she can voulenteer at? btw, it has to b in either manhattan or queens, ny. o, and she's in 7th grade.

Try some of the retirement homes, or shelters. She could also call the department of children's services and ask for a list of non-profit organizations, Then call them to see if they need any volunteers.

you might try www.volunteermatch.com to see what is available for teens in your area.
Harvesters (www.harvesters.org) might also need help packaging food, although it wouldn't be as exciting as working with pets... lol.
