Digital workflow is every step from the making of the image in the digital camera to the final output of the image from the printer, and everything in between. Ideally, every step should be tuned to the same specific standard so that what yous see on your computer screen is the same color as your final print. The ONLY way to achieve this is to maintain proper workflow throughout. This is no different from what was done in the wet film process. Remember the 18% neutral gray test card, and those color "Shirley's" for the test prints. Same thing only now it is in binary (digital), and better -- everything gets color calibrated to work together from beginning to end and is repeatable today, tomorrow, five years from now or more. Last, keep in mind, with digital, you are making clones, NOT copies.
