my 2002 toyota tacoma has stock rims and tires on it. I want to buy tires that stick out past the fenders an inch or so like in this picture.

how do i do this and what do I have to buy. I know i need to get the tires, but do I also need rims? will wider tires work on my stock rims? Please help me

you need to research your tires and tires that you want to buy. get a measuring tape and see how far out you can go. dont forget to turn your wheels left and right to see how much clearence you have. make sure the rims you get are the same or deeper offset. make sure the rims are the approved width for the tires. also research wether you want bias of radial ply tires. that all depends on what your using them for. look at all the numbers as far as max load, tire ply, cross section width and tread width, overall diameter, ect. most of all just make sure your fenders and frame can clear the tire. Or just take your truck to 4wheelparts and they can do it all for you

Well, you will indeed have to buy the tires, and probably the rims as well, if you really want them to stick out that way. I would suggest going to your local tire and wheel retailer, if you don't have any luck there, then look at some off roading magazines and comb through the advertisements in them and check websites that may relate.
