Yes, you can. Pug/dachshund crosses are actually gaining in popularity. Technically the puppies will be mixed breeds, even if the parents are purebred.
First, consult your vet and ensure that your pets don't have any genetic issues that will affect the puppies. You owe it to your clients to sell them healthy puppies. Be prepared for a lot of time and money invested. Pugs often cannot give live birth and must have C-sections. Also, if you are a responsible breeder, you'll make sure that the puppies are de-wormed and vaccinated. Give them a clean, spacious area to live in and play with them so that they'll be socialized for a new owner (my family bought a dachshund from a breeder who let her grandchildren play with the pups prior to sale). You might want to research the breeding process or talk to a reputable breeder in the area so you can be aware of problems and other things you might need to prepare for. There is nothing wrong with breeding an animal as long as you do your homework. Please e-mail me and let me know how it goes because I am interested in owning a dach-a-pug.

Don't be stupid! Do no breed your dog! Leave that to professionals. There are enough unwanted pups around. You have no idea what you are getting into. Breeding dogs is a science best left to those who spend their lives trying to better an individual breed.
It will be nothing but heartache for you. HAVE YOU DOG NEUTERED OR SPAYED!!!

don't try and make money off of your family pet ITS WRONG! your dog doesn't need to have puppies, unless your a registered breeder( OF FULL BLOOD DOGS) leave it to the people who know what they are doing.
back yard breeding is bad news.
you wouldn't get much b/c they would be mutts.

Don't breed you dog, its irrisponsible. Especially since its not a purebred, you should only breed to make a certain breed better. That means quality dogs (yours are not). You will officially be a looked down upon backyard breeder.

They're already so many dogs without homes please do not breed with your dog. It sounds as if you have no experience or knowledge breeding and therefore you should not breed.
So many things can go wrong and the health of the litter and your own dog will be at risk if you breed with little to no knowledge.
If you are just looking to make money, this is not the way to do it.

Breeding mutts is wrong. If you want to be a part of a litter of pups call your local human society and see if you can foster a pregnant dog. There are too many unwanted dogs to be breeding mutts.

No, no one with a brain wants to pay money for mutts.
It isn't a 'designer breed' -- you will be making mutts -- why? Go to your local shelter - call them first and ask when kill day is and then go on that day and see if you can help them get rid of the bodies of all the mutts that people have produced to just make puppies. Why do you dislike your dog so much that you would risk her life by breeding her? You obviously don't know much about dogs or you wouldn't be asking about making mutts so if she gets a pup stuck and starts to die, you likely wouldn't even know and that is if you were even around. If you want 'full blooded' dogs - buy one - or find one at the shelter and adopt it but don't make a bunch more unwanted throw-away puppies to end up in that body pile.

I would not recommend that breeding. Breeding take alot of time and energy and money, it's not just put the dogs together and lets see what you get, you pay money for vet bills to make sure the female is healthy, you have to feed her extra food this involves cooking for her to add into her puppy food, then you have when the pups whelp if you are lucky you may have no problems but since the female in question is part pug the have a short nose and she may require a c-section that can run up to a 1000.00 or more then the pups do you have the time to clean up after the pups and maybe even bottle feed them every 2 hours cause the mom can't or wont feed them, then you have to make sure they go to loving homes do you have homes for them already? and if one of those homes can't keep their pup/dog are you willing to take it back and find it a new home? I would say if you are not prepared to do all of these things where you may end up spending alot more money than what you would get for these pups Please do not breed you girl.

You'll probably have to pay someone to take those ugly things off your hands.
Do the shelter world a favor, and DON'T do anything stupid like that.

Well if you don't know then you shouldn't be breeding. Is there not enough animals euthanized daily for you nationally???Maybe you should google euthanasia and see exactly what the pet overpopulation is all about.I would suggest you alter that poor animal.
