yes i think so. i'm married to a mexican and have 2 girls. i believe that those here legally or illegally for that long should be in-titled to some help an easier process. those who work, have families, with no criminal history just hard working people like everyone else trying to make a better life. also no one cares about the children involved. when daddy is deported what are you supposed to tell your children ..being punished for being here 6, 7, 8, 9, years and doing well until immigration pops up at their job and takes him away....sad isn't?

Support?

Citizens don't get 'support' and have been subsidizing education if you have kids....

To get off my soap box, if they looked at those who paid taxes and were here a long time and didn't use public funds, and had no criminal or gang records, they'd whittle down the opposition quite a bit. They'd still have to repair the impacts to our infrastructure and fund services drained, but at least we'd be moving in the right direction.

Right now, though, the way the debate goes is they say 'think of these [defined] GOOD people, shouldn't they be legalized?' then when the bill comes out, legalization doesn't only go to the [defined] GOOD people, at all.

Are you legally here? What kind of "support" are you seeking? Based on your question, I am assuming that you are illegally here and you are hoping that Congress will give you amnesty.

So, you've been paying your taxes. OK, how are you doing this? You wouldn't have a SS#. Based on the income from almost all illegals, the taxes paid would be tiny compared to the amount of services used. This is especially the case if you have children.

If you are illegal and you are demanding that the government owes you something, sorry no. Actually, even if you are here legally, why do you deserve support from the government? Take care of yourself and stop expecting a hand-out!

AMNESTY IS WRONG!

Well, first of all there are not 3x or even 2x as many immigrants as in 2000, legal or not. Sorry.

If you are here legally, then there is a process to follow to get a Green Card and then a Citizenship. Go ahead and follow that process, and you will get there eventually.

As for benefits from paying your taxes, you already get most of what we get - the abiltiy to enjoy our public infrastructure, parks, protection from police, access to the justice system, and so on.

I am certainly not anti-immigration, but having travelled in my own life, I know full well that if I don't like the country I am in, or if it doesn't meet my needs any longer, then I am free to go somewhere else. So are you. No one made you come here, and no one is making you stay here either.

SUPPORT??? HELP??? TO DO WHAT?

So you are saying because you have avoided "La Migra" for 6 years you should get some sort of "reward"?? And what might that be?

You have been a criminal for longer than 95% of "immigrants"...BTW, you are not an "immigrant", you are an ILLEGAL ALIEN. Does this make you special for some reason, because you have been here longer than most other illegal aliens??

It doesn't seem like any pros responded to your question. It seems like you are not helping their case.

I'm 54 yrs. old, I've been working since I was sixteen, paying taxes, the gov. doesn't support me. If you are really working why do you need the support of the gov. That is a half wit question. Why are illegals so willing to devulge that they are criminals. One day it may bite you when it hurts.

Support for what? Are you here legally? If not, join the rest of Americans who get jack from the government because we don't have a third world entitlement mentality. that's why no one wants you here, we have enough welfare recipients taxing us into the grave as it is. Go ask your country for help!

Are you illegal and breaking the law? If so, then no! Also if you are here illegally, you are disrespecting our country and it's laws and you are not an illegal immigrant but an illegal alien. Abide by our laws and become an American.

I believe those who are born in this country, fought for this country, and are now in their senior years deserve help from the government. Let everybody else work as hard as they have and then ask.
