I used to be an atheist before but thankfully not now, 100 % believer now and the atheists here that have not converted yet are only here for one reason, to learn more about God because they are fence sitters still not sure if they want to jump in. REAL atheists like I used to be would never hang out in a place such as this that is full of religion. in their questions and answers they will deny it but that is only so their friends that see their questions an answers will not make fun of them.they will put up a very strong anti-God front but a front is all it really is.....100 % here are secretly fence sitters,..no true atheists here so keep preaching, they really do want to hear it....and to all of the fence sitters here please do not ever give up the search.............you will find !!! and it is worth it, I converted from being atheist 30 years ago and trust me I have never regretted it. God's love is awesome and he really does answer my prayers now !!!!

By reading the replies you hit a nerve by proving your point. I think they want the truth so bad and it's very obvious by a lot of the questions they ask

fellow nontheists did you know there are no real Christians here ?
I used to be a Christian before but thankfully not now, 100 % non-believer now and the Christians here that have not deconverted yet are only here for one reason, to learn more about God because they are fence sitters still not sure if they want to jump out. REAL Christians like I used to be would never hang out in a place such as this that is full of rational arguements disproving God. in their questions and answers they will deny it but that is only so their friends that see their questions an answers will not make fun of them.they will put up a very strong pro-God front but a front is all it really is.....100 % here are secretly fence sitters,..no true Christians here so keep preaching, they really do want to hear it....and to all of the fence sitters here please do not ever give up the search.............you will find !!! and it is worth it, I deconverted from being Christian years ago and trust me I have never regretted it. God's love is illusionary and he really doesn't answer anyone's prayers !!!!

You converted 30 years ago at the age of three, yes?
You were never an atheist no matter what lies you try to convince atheists with.
You can't go from believing that invisible sky critters do NOT exist to believing that they do cos there is no evidence to support the shift.
It's not as if 'he' suddenly healed an amputee or stopped children from being abused, molested or starved.
I first heard of the god concept when I was seven; I was amazed that many fully grown adults (not my parents of course ... thank 'god') believed there was an invisible man in the sky.
Over the next 54 years my amazement never abated - in fact it increased especially with the knowledge available and the ease of which it can be had.
Don't try to make yourself feel good saying we're fence-sitters.
You and I both know the only reason you went over to the dark-side is because you're frightened of death which is the reason that the xian scam was first invented and why it’s still is so successful.
It tells its gullibles that if they don't suck up to the invisible man they'll go to hell.
I can't believe people still fall for that old chestnut.
It boils down to the fact you’re a believer because you’re a coward and you’re afraid the bogeyman will getcha if you don’t do as ‘they’ say.
FEAR is your driver.
“He who fears that he may suffer already suffers what he fears.”
Oh, thanks for the laughs.
Laughter is the best medicine.

Everyone that has ever been born is searching for God as He has designed a place in all of us to receive His presence. I think that God has placed R&S for those that don't get to hear the Truth in other places. Most people will not just walk into a church and start asking questions. I am thankful that He has placed His believers in all areas of life to let others know that Jesus is real and like you said you have never regretted it. Those that find Him really never do.

And the award for best work of fiction goes to:
FORMER atheist, God is good !!!!!
Congratulations...someone give the guy a cigar.
Note to people who might actually buy into this nonsense:
1) A *real* atheist would have no problem going to places where religion is present. Real atheists are confident enough in their beliefs that things like that don't bother them. Only people who are falsely claiming to be atheist would be hysterical about that. (Like the questioner)
2) A *real* atheist knows how to spell "atheist"
3) A real atheist would not convert to 100% believer, because the idea of gods to atheists is so absurd as to be almost impossible to convince them otherwise.
4) Lying and saying that atheists secretly, deep down, believe in your religion does not make it true, no matter how vehemently you insist it.
5) Atheists have very good reasons to be discussing religion, and that is because religion affects our lives too. Much too strongly. When the day comes that we no longer have to fight having other people's religious beliefs forced into our laws, government, and schools, we will have no more reason to come here and discuss religion.
6) We have as much right to be here trying to talk sense into believers as they do coming to our HOMES to try to convert us. Actually, we have more of a right to be HERE than believers do to come to our homes. Just be thankful that it's only here that you see us. We *could* change our minds and start showing up at your houses...

Yes, so you've said previously, ad nauseam.
The problem is, you were NEVER an atheist. You were merely an ignorant nascent theist who hadn't realised it yet. It wasn't that you were ever aware that God did not exist, you simply hadn't been persuaded yet.
So you see, you're really completely unsuited to speak for atheists. I doubt, frankly, that you are aware of any serious atheist thought, philosophy or science.
So do us all a favour and belt up, there's a good god-botherer.

the sort of atheist you used to be, who instinctively and ritually avoids all things religious, is being just as superstitious in his own way as the people he may be criticising. well, we may argue all day about the true definition of atheism, but i at least don't want to be that sort of atheist.
you seem prone here to believing what you want to believe... atheists can be interested in religion for many different reasons, quite a few of which don't involve secretly agreeing with it. but if that's what you have to tell yourself so that you can cope with the presence of conflicting viewpoints, well i'm not going to try to stop you.

I don't think anyone here is necessarily representative of anyone other than him- or herself. That doesn't stop many of these individuals from stereotyping other people.
Atheists throw mud at Christians and Christians throw mud at atheists. Once in a while someone writes something that seems to come from the heart and is civilly worded.
Why one group has to establish its superiority to the other is simply beyond me.

Your in straightforward terms selection is inner maximum college or homestead coaching. Public colleges could have infants of any theory. you will no longer have the potential to preserve them from life yet you may deliver them to non-public christian college at a cost. My suggestion is you carry the youngster up as you think. it is your duty that God promises. purely be there for their questions and allow them to income. they'll faster or later. The Bible says in case you carry infants up in the observe, they'll shop it. it fairly is what's meant by being in the international yet no longer element of it. practice them that. Rev. TomCat

I am not an atheist, but I certainly like to pose and answer questions about organized religion because I think most of you have got it badly wrong and sound most of the time like brainwashed cult victims than people who have deep spiritual joy.
