apply a cold pack on it- 15 minutes on- 15 minutes off.
the cold will constrict the blood vessels and cause the fluids to decrease and and you dont want to leave it on for too long- taking breaks will keep you from freezing your lip off! and yes. it could happen- but you probably would never let it happen- but just as a precaution.

sorry you got a swollen lip.. those arent so nice. be careful not to bite it, etc. thatd suck even more!

I always found it better to treat the cause of the swollen lip instead of the affect of the swollen lip. Listen instead of talk.

Ice reduces swelling. If it's due to an impact injury that's about all you can do. If it's a sting then you might need benadryl.

Why is it swollen? If it's bruised then ice.
