Ok, that sounds a little mean. But, there's this guy who I just met at school in the beginning of August, and now he's all over me. I haven't led him on or anything. And I'm really not looking to date anyone right now, especially this guy because he's just not my type. He's always asking if I'll study with him outside of school and he asked for my number. I couldn't lie or anything, so I gave it to him. He said he was going to call me tomorrow to study over at my house, even though I'm reluctant about the whole thing. The main problem is just that he's obviously trying to take this to another level, and I don't feel comfortable doing that. I don't know how to hint that I want to just be friends. Please help! It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all who answer! =)

You need to be firm with this guy or he'll get the wrong impression. Guys take indecision as encouragement and if you act hesitant because you don't want to hurt his feelings, then you'll just come off as indecisive. Be up front with him. Tell him that he's wrong to assume that you're inviting him to your house to study or for any reason, because it's not happening. Let him know that you're simply not interested but tell him that you have enough respect for him to not lead him on or leave him hanging and then tell him that you believe he has enough respect for you to accept that. Then tell him to have a nice day, smile and walk away.

Tell him nicely. If you're not comfortable at your house then ask if you can meet him somewhere else like at a cafe or something. Just let him know that you aren't looking for someone to date by saying something like I've been noticing that you seem to want to take this to another level but I'm really not looking for someone to date right now sorry, but I hope we can still stay friends or something like that. Or if you don't want to be that upfront you could still study with him and just make your actions clear that you only want to be friends.

when he calls to come over to study, make sure that someone else is there also or make excuses that you are doing something else. If you have mutual friends let them tell him that you are not interested. Good Luck!!

when he gets over, have a t-shirt on that says, "I want friends, none with benefits, just want to be friends...got it!"
