Blues songs are usually ... about the blues. So, anything that makes you blue should work.
The usual ideas:
Your woman leaves.
You can't get the woman you want.
Your woman cheats on you
Your woman cheats on you... with your best friend.
Also you can try:
Leaving home
Missing home
Traveling in a train... away from home.
Returning home.

blues describes every facet in life even though heartbreak is an important one it's not all that blues is about. Blues also talks about love, sex (a lot), travelling,... The life of the delta bluesmen consisted mainly of travelling and playing round the country picking up women and trying to score a buck here to be able to drink and there that 's why you hear a lot of these kind of songs but basically you can write about everything you think about. I've written songs about stuff like paying tax (that can give you the blues too) or internet love. It can all become blues

if you are going to sing standard lyrics like one of the other answers said, you need a guitar part that is in standard blues. Em or Am
For lyrics... depending on what kind of blues you want, you can have it about a girl or just about anything. ZZ Top is a great band to listen to because they have that wide variety. From "Just got Paid" to Blue Jeans Blues

It should come from your feelings about you or what you have been touched in the way that motivate yourself an impetus solid enough that moves you to write it down accompanied with a melody inspiration from the bottom of your intimate sensitivity

Blues is all about staring life's agonies right in the face and sex. That's all I can provide.
Unless you're one of those who thinks it began in the 1980s with SRV.

Well you could be like me. Broke as hell can only afford to wear rags, tired of eating pasta all of the time, and hating the tax man

I have dozens of them, but you should write your song based on your experiences, not someone else's.
