Surely they must have been created with that flaw?

Adam must have been inherantly flawed because Eve was wife number 2 since wife number 1 Lilith would have none of Adam.

Seriously, when Adam and Lilith crash-landed their spaceship because Adam refused to ask for directions Lilith said "enough of you dude I see some strapping cro-magnon men with bigger "staffs" that'll make better use of them!" And then Adam being the weenie that he was went and found himself a young local neanderthal female that didn't know any better...and the rest is the human race...

An interpretation of birth of humanity story as good as any other out there, dont'cha agree...

I am assuming that you are a person that believes in the Bible, because I'll show you where the Bible answers your question.
*Adam was created in God's image and likeness (Genesis 1:26) He had moral qualities, and reasoning powers and a faculty of conscience.
*God gave him clear instructions as to what his role would be (Genesis 1:28-30)
* God gave Adam clear instructions, which he evidently passed on to Eve, and they understood the rule well enough to explain it themselves. (Gen. 2:16, 17; Gen 3:2,3)
*Adam and Eve were perfect, there were no factors beyond their control to make them sin, as is the case with us today. They did it deliberately. Eve was decieved, she really believed she'd become like God, but Adam knew exactly what he was doing (1 Tim. 2: 11-14)
*It is not true that God 'created' sin, even as it would be absurd for a scientist to deliberately create a computer program to crash at a certain point, and then get angry when the computer program does crash! God is perfect, just, loving, never does bad things and the suffering that we undergo as a result of Adam and Eve's decision hurts him as well and he has set things in motion to relieve faithful ones of their suffering. (Deut. 32:4; Psalms 37:9-11; James 1:3- 17; 1 John 4:8; Rev. 21:3,4)
This is a very important issue, because it explains so much of what is going on today in the world. I've tried to give as brief an explanation as I could. But for more information, you'd need a Bible study. Try to get hold of the Bible study aid "What Does the Bible REALLY Teach?", published by Jehovah's Witnesses.

If you are calling free will a flaw then maybe God did make a mistake. I don't think it is but I can see where you would be confused. Perhaps if your free will was removed, it would please you more. Then you'd be subjected to your master's rules and there would be no need for love. Love being the example of free will, would have no place because you'd have to do what your master wanted you to do. I like the plan God made better. Then I can accept his love and I'll give it back in return.

Of course they were 'created' with a glitch - 'god' needed someone to blame when they acted like humans.

[edit]
someone mentioned that Adam and Eve believed the lies of 'Satan'.
LOLz. If Adam and Eve didn't have knowledge of 'good and bad' how were they to know 'Satan' was spinning them a line?
I mean, if a snake talks to you, you believe it, dontcha?
I know I would.

Want to know the truth about Adam and Eve, read Revelation 12, keep an open mind, and believe in Jesus.

Adam and Eve were immortal and innocent, but subjected to imperfections and the ability to choose for themselves, which is one of God's greatest gifts to man--free agency.

Through their transgression, they unknowingly followed God's great Plan of Salvation. Otherwise, they could not have multiplied and replenished the earth as was their commandment to do so.

Uhh, it wasn't the lies of Satan...It was the decievement of that talking snake...that walked.

G-d punished all snakes by taking away its legs and voice.

because He gave them free will. Just like we have the free will to accept His free gift or throw it back in His face, I choose to accept it.
