Manny should win the fight. He's the better of the two nowadays. If Pacquaio beat The "Baby-faced Assasin" way back in 2003 how will he beat the faster, stronger and better Pacquiao. But for fight of the year? It depends how things work out... We haven't seen it yet. But if your asking for the billing YES it does. Pacquiao and Barrera would be legends so with both squaring off I don't see why this won't be a contender. Other contenders would be:

(in order of fight dates)

1. Mayweather vs. Dela Hoya - most anticipated. May have failed some expectations. But is' entertaining none the less.
2. Hopkins vs. Wright - One of the biggest fight of this year. Hopkins schooled Wright in this one.
3. Taylor vs. Pavlik - It's a Box-fest! Great boxing all the way.
4. Pacquiao vs. Barrera - Haven't seen it yet but they are big names in boxing so expectations are high.
5. This is upcoming but I guess this has a strong running:
Sugar Shane Mosley vs. Miguel Cotto.

Hope this helps.

Pac-man is going to go through Barrera. Pac beat him the first time and even though Barrera wasn't at his best (like they claim) I don't see his best beating Pac. If you saw the first fight Pac is too fast, too strong and just too much for Barrera to handle. Pac in slow motion could beat Barrera's best right now. Barrera is getting too old and has too much mileage on him, dude is running on fumes. Did you see him in the Marquez fight? If he can lose that fight and give it his all what makes anybody think he can beat Pac?

As for fight of the year. It MIGHT not get any better than that Taylor vs. Pavlik. That was a very exciting fight and both dudes weren't scared to trade blows. You saw both fighters give it all they got and it was all heart. Those are the type of fights that boxing fans can appreciate. The reason I wouldn't say Mayweather vs.Hatton would be good is because of Mayweather's style. It's going to be another boring fight where Hatton is probably going to chase Mayweather but won't get to him because Mayweather is too fast. The sleeper fight would be the Mosley vs. Cotto, I'm looking forward to watching that. Sugar Shane is not scared to be aggressive and trade blows and Cotto is straight blue collar and has too much machismo to back down. That right there could be fight of the year.

Hello,

Check out fightjunkie.com for a detailed report of the fights.

I doubt Pac/Barrera will be fight of the year. Barrera is not viewed as a real threat at this stage of his career.

Pacqiao hands down by unanimous decision, barrera is gettin old he will be outworked by paqciao, this fight will be a mismatch, too much speed, and power i think barrera will get battered but he has too much heart to get ko'd twice against him so he will finish the fight.
not fight of they year the fight of the year will be pavlik-taylor i think or one of the 3 fights next which are calzaghe-kessler, mosley-cotto, or mayweather-hatton.
